Q: Can CO2 Blow Up?

A: NO! Carbon dioxide is not explosive! Just the opposite, it cannot burn!

Carbon dioxide is compressed and put into fire extinguishers designed to put out fires, and is especially good at putting out electrical fires.

Fire extinguishers that contain carbon dioxide have an advantage over chemical extringuishers because they don't leave any residue.

After its release, the carbon dioxide dissipates.

OSHA (The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration) lists carbon dioxide as one of the most common fire-extinguishing agents.
